Kenan Fountain lighting

The Wilmington City Council saw two demonstrations for lighting improvements at the historic Kenan Fountain on Oct. 8 and Oct. 15. The fountain is located at the intersection of 5th Avenue and Market Street. 

Graybar Services, Inc. of Wilmington demonstrated their proposal for lighting improvements at the fountain on Oct. 8. Their improvements are estimated to cost $25,000-$30,000. Below are before and after photographs from the Oct. 8 presentation.

On Tuesday, Oct. 15, Musco Lighting of Iowa demonstrated their proposed improvements during the City Council meeting that evening. Their improvements are estimated to cost $50,000-$60,000. Following are before and after pictures from Musco's demonstration:

Some initial lighting improvements were made several months ago after it was struck by a car, but the new proposals would provide more extensive, permanent upgrades. 

City Council saw a presentation on the two proposals at their Sept. 16 agenda briefing.
