On Feb. 17, the Wilmington City Council saw a presentation on the status of plans for the new North Waterfront Park.
No timetable has been set, but there will be a thorough public input process during which citizens will be encouraged to submit ideas and comment on potential design elements of the park. Work on the park now involves clean-up and grading, which will continue for several months. The City hopes to have a soft opening of the park (as a grass field only--prior to any substantial landscaping, design elements, etc.) later this year.
