The Wilmington Tree Commission is currently taking nominations for heritage trees in Wilmington for 2014.
A Heritage Tree displays outstanding qualities in size, age, rarity, overall beauty, or historical importance representing Wilmington’s history or natural landscape. Although 2014 is the Year of the Conifer and Gingko trees, all tree species are eligible for recognition as a Heritage Tree.
Nominations are due by April 30, 2014. Winners will be announced at a future City Council meeting.
