On Tuesday, Mar. 11, the city held the second of two public input meetings about a major stormwater improvement project upcoming in the Brookshire/Beasley Road area. Note: this meeting was originally scheduled to be held on Jan. 30, but was rescheduled due to inclement weather.
A preliminary design of the project has been completed and the city is seeking additional input from property owners in the area before the design is finalized. This $4 million project will be one of the largest drainage improvement projects the city has ever done. Experts will be at the meeting with detailed maps to provide more information, listen to citizen input and answer questions.
Input from residents before the project design is finalized is important because the city will need access to private property when construction is going on, and in some cases will need to purchase easements from homeowners.
