FREE midnight basketball program at MLK

The city's Midnight Basketball Program takes place from 8 p.m. to midnight each Friday through August 22 at the MLK, Jr. Community Center for youths age 12‐18.

The program is FREE and no pre-registration is required. Sign up at the door each Friday at 8 p.m.

Each week, teens will attend an educational session featuring different life lessons, followed by basketball. Food is also provided thanks to generous donations from area churches and businesses.

The focus of the program is getting youths off the streets through organized basketball and educational sessions. Midnight basketball is one of many programs that the Wilmington Police Department sponsors as part of a larger, successful "Community Policing" initiative.

The MLK, Jr. Community Center is located at 401 S. 8th Street. Call 910.341.7866 or 910.341.4608 for more information.
