City saves $257,000 by recycling

Over the past year, the City of Wilmington has saved more than $257,000, thanks to city recycling customers. City recycling customers recycled about 8 percent more this past fiscal year than they did in the previous year.

Water St paving underway
City crews are applying temporary pavement and patches on Water Street between Princess and Walnut streets as part of the city’s streets maintenance program. While paving is underway, there will be intermittent, temporary lane closures on Water Street, but traffic flow will be maintained.  [Read more...]

Muni golf course gets green
On Thursday, July 10, crews began “sprigging” approximately 12 acres of greens and approaches at the City of Wilmington’s municipal golf course.  The sprigs, which are 3-6 inch grass stems, are hand-planted. [Read more...]
Transportation bond to appear on Nov. ballot

At their July 8 meeting, the Wilmington City Council approved a $44 million bond referendum which would allow for $55 million in transportation improvements within the city. The referendum will appear on the Nov. 4 ballot.
