City receives $400,000 federal grant
On May 28, the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced that the City of Wilmington will receive $400,000 in federal funding to continue its efforts to clean and redevelop contaminated properties - known as brownfields - as part of a long-term effort to redevelop old industrial and commercial sites in the city. City cleans up old gas station
Crews are at 406 Dawson Street removing four aging undergrounds gas tanks that once served as a gas station at the intersection of 5th Avenue and Dawson Street. The site has been vacant for years and qualifies as a Brownfields site. [Read more...]
