Public meeting for Clear Run residents
The City of Wilmington will hold a public meeting from 6-8 p.m. on June 25 to discuss a drainage improvement project planned for the Clear Run area. The meeting will be held at College Park Elementary School, located at 5001 Oriole Drive.

FREE midnight basketball program at MLK

The city's FREE Midnight Basketball Program will kick off starting Friday, June 20 at 8 p.m. The program will take place from 8 p.m. to midnight each Friday through August 22 at the MLK, Jr. Community Center for youths age 12‐18.

WPD to apply for $1.2 million grant

On June 17, Police Chief Ralph Evangelous presented a plan to the Wilmington City Council to expand the successful community policing program. During the meeting, Council authorized the city to apply for a $1.2 million community policing grant.

Community Safety Expo
Citizens are encouraged to drop by Hugh MacRae Park, located at 1799 S College Road, to see a number of  informational displays and demonstrations at the 3rd annual Community Safety Expo. The expo will be held on Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and is free and open to the public. [Read more...]
Yard waste pickup on schedule

City saves money with LED lights
The City of Wilmington has just finished converting more than 200 streetlights to environmentally-friendly LED lights, which will save more than $10,000 a year.
