City's long-range growth plan moves to next phase
About 75 people came out to Halyburton Park on June 25 to view six sample maps showing different ideas for how Wilmington can manage an expected rate of growth of 52 percent by 2040.

Public input meeting for city redevelopment

On Wednesday, June 25, citizens are invited to drop in anytime between 1-8 p.m. at Halyburton Park to get information and provide input on each of the examples for long-term growth. The examples were developed from citizen input collected to date. Staff will be on hand to answer questions and will give brief presentations at 2, 4 and 6 p.m.

Proposed tree legislation
On Tuesday, May 13, Wilmington Mayor Bill Saffo and other area leaders met at Halyburton Park to speak about a proposal that would limit the ability of local governments to regulate trees, including the the removal, replacement or preservation of trees on private property. [Read more...]

Green Spring Carnival at Halyburton Park
On Saturday, March 22, the City of Wilmington will hold the Green Spring Carnival at Halyburton Park from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. The event is designed to encourage recycling at all ages and will include games, activities, exhibits from local businesses and a recycled art gallery featuring local artists and UNCW students.
