The birds of prey are flying into Halyburton Park again! Get a closer look at live birds of prey from the Outer Banks Wildlife Shelter. A Peregrine Falcon, Barred Owl and Eastern Screech Owl will be introduced as you learn about these amazing birds. Also find out about Shark Attack!

The recent heavy rains have been no match for the city's completed Stormwater projects. Projects totaling over $5 million completed in 2012 alleviate flooding in problem areas and lessen stormwater pollution.

The Wilmington Fire Department will hold a "roll in" ceremony for their new Rescue 2 fire truck on Wednesday at 1:30 pm at Empie Park Fire Station 2, located at 3403 Park Avenue.

Bo Dean gave an update on the Miracle Field at Olsen Park earlier this week at the City Council meeting, reporting that it is complete except for a few finishing touches. According to Dean, citizens raised more than $1.2 million for the project and more than $2 total including in-kind contributions.

On Thursday, May 30 at 6 p.m. the city will hold a public input meeting about a major stormwater improvement project upcoming in the Brookshire/Beasley Road area. The meeting will be held at Parsley Elementary School, located at 3518 Masonboro Loop Road.
