The number of citizens biking to work more than doubled during this year’s Bike To Work Week,
which took place May 12-18. The Wilmington Metropolitan Planning Organization (WMPO) coordinated the event and surpassed all their goals for the week.

The City of Wilmington’s Riverwalk is the city’s #1 tourist attraction and work is currently underway to maintain existing sections and extend the Riverwalk to the north.
When complete, the Riverwalk will stretch 1.75 miles between the Cape Fear Memorial Bridge and the Isabel Holmes Bridge.

On Tuesday, April 29 at 5:30 p.m., the City of Wilmington will hold a wrap-up meeting for citizens to give input on the city’s report, "Reducing Youth Gun Violence in Wilmington” and discuss next steps.

Citizens have just a few more days to provide feedback on the city’s report, "Reducing Youth Gun Violence in Wilmington." The report was released last month. The survey will be available through April 25.

Construction is underway on a 1.3-mile segment of the Cross-City Trail that will stretch from Wade Park, along Bethel Road, Waltmoor Road and South 17th Street to connect with the existing trail at John D. Barry Drive.
