Wilmington Fire Department vehicles can now fuel up at the closest gas station with new fuel cards. Previously, they had to drive to one of the small pumps located at four fire stations.

There will be two information meetings on Wednesday, Oct. 29 to discuss the fire services feasibility study recently conducted. The first meeting will take place at 2 p.m. at Halyburton Park, and the second meeting will be held at 6 p.m. at New Hanover County Government Complex.

Groundbreaking for the Wilmington Fire Department's newest fire station on Cinema Drive! The ceremony will take place on Sept. 23 at 10 a.m. at 114 Cinema Drive.

The city held a 9-11 ceremony on Thursday, Sept. 11 at the Empie Park fire station. The firefighter memorial, which is always open to the public, includes a piece of steel recovered from ground zero.
