The Parks, Recreation and Downtown Services Division provides citizens with diverse opportunities, unique experiences and exceptional amenities. A broad range of activities include Recreation Programs for all ages, Parks and Urban Landscape, Film Services, Special Events and a myriad of Athletic opportunities. The division also includes the Municipal Golf Course and the City's Community Centers.

MISSION: The Parks and Recreation Advisory Board strives to effectively assess the wishes of the citizens of Wilmington regarding the needs, planning, and management for the quality of parks, facilities, and recreation programs while advocating for the improvement of these programs"
Meetings are held on the 4th Wednesday of every month at 5:30 pm at the Parks and Recreation main office located at 302 Willard Street in Wilmington.
The Parks and Recreation Advisory Board is working on determining the best methods to improve and expand parks, facilities, green space and recreational opportunities utilizing both public and private resources. The 11 member Advisory Board is seeking input from the public in order to achieve this goal.
