CBD Regulations Update Public Input

City staff is in process of receiving input on updating regulations for the Central Business District (CBD). This update is in response to development trends in the north end of downtown as well as development pressures to infill the historic core. Issues identified for updates are based on feedback gathered from downtown residents, property owners, architects, and developers.

The code will be revised to improve clarity, facilitate consistent interpretation of the code, and to help stakeholders better understand the expectations for development in the CBD. Issues to be addressed include building heights, public space, parking design, landscaping, and uses.

City planning staff has offered a series of roundtable discussion groups to gather feedback. In addition to these roundtable discussions, at least one large-format meeting will be held to gather additional input. Following these public input sessions, the proposed revisions will be presented to the Planning Commission and then City Council. These public hearings will be scheduled for early next year. Check back here for updates, including dates for public input meetings and public hearings.
