The Wilmington Police Department, under the direction of Chief Ralph Evangelous, recognizes the growing security needs of the public and private sector. As a result, a program was developed offering services provided by police officers while they are off-duty. The program is supported by hourly fees paid by clients for services provided.
Current and former clients include but are not limited to:
- Banks
- Credit Unions
- Grocery Stores
- Movie and Television Production Companies
- Jewelry Stores
- Churches
- Private Individuals
- Five and 10K Races
- Movie Theatres
- Department Stores
- Conventions
- Construction Projects
- Funeral Escorts
- Hotels/Motels
Contract rates for officers
Hourly Rate per officer- $30 per hour (there is a four hour minimum on all contracts $120)
Marked Police Cruisers- $25 per vehicle (if the vehicle is used for 4 hours or under)
$50 per vehicle (if the vehicle is used for over 4 hours)
*A police cruiser cannot be requested without an officer.
Police Officers will be in full uniform and are available 24 hours a day. This service is provided within the Wilmington city limits only. Forty-eight hours advance notice is requested to ensure adequate staffing of the contract.
If you would like to request the services of an officer/s please complete the new client information sheet and fax it to 910-341-4634. Once everything is agreed you will receive a contract from us to review and sign.
