
The function of the Administrative Support Specialist - Payroll/HR is to:
- Act as a liaison between the city HR department and WPD
- Assist employees with questions and concerns regarding issues such as benefits and FMLA
- Act as the department contact for Kronos (automated payroll system)
- Answer questions about payroll and timekeeping
- Act as the departmental contact for all employee injuries
- Assist injured employees through the Worker's Compensation process
- Act as the administrator for the Human Patterns appraisal system
The function of the Fiscal Support Specialist in the Support Services Division is to:
- Obtain those materials and services that are needed by support services staff in order to effectively, and efficiently, carry out their daily duties
- Monitor the expenditures of approximately $3.3 million for the operating costs for that division
- Enter budget estimates for support services and assist other divisions with same
- Enter and submit budget adjustments for all divisions in the department
- Attend all city meetings dealing with budget matters pertaining to the Police Department
- Make sure all vendors are paid in a timely manne
- Work with the City Purchasing Office to ensure competitive bidding practices are followed
