Police Administrative Supervisor
The Police Administrative Supervisor is responsible primarily for supervising DCI clerk, police cadets, and overseeing the day to day operations of the front desk. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to: performing monthly DCI validations and reports, maintaining the DCI hot files and warrants, attending terminal agency coordinator meetings, serving as the department lead or assistant Terminal Agency Coordinator (TAC) and liaison between the agency and the SBI's criminal information and identification section, ensuring department compliance with state and national rules and regulations regarding the system and oversees system audits, supervising staff, prioritizing and assigning work, conducting performance evaluations, handling disciplinary issues, assisting with interviewing and hiring, performing data entry, filing and records maintenance and performing other duties of a similar nature or level.
Police Administrative Support Technician
The purpose of this position is to provide administrative support to the Wilmington Police Department. This is accomplished by answering and screening calls, directing callers and visitors, completing routine clerical tasks, preparing meeting and agenda materials, maintaining office supplies and inventories, and distributing mail.
Desk Officer
The desk officer is a certified police officer who is on special assignment at the front desk. There are currently 4 assigned officers at the front desk that provide around the clock assistance. Their duties include public contact via telephone and in person, assisting street officers with sensitive information, entering trespass tow information into the system, helping with reports when available, assisting other front desk personnel, managing the in house security system, overseeing and managing the downtown camera system, completing interior/exterior building perimeter checks, issuing visitor badges, manage impound lot access, and are responsible for U.S. and North Carolina flag courtesies.
Police Cadet
There are currently 4 police cadets assigned to the front desk. The purpose of this position is to provide administrative support with answering and screening calls, directing callers and visitors, and distributing incoming mail throughout the department.
