As of July 2011, North Carolina state legislation banned TVs and computers from NC landfills.  The City of Wilmington no longer picks up these items.  But there's good news, you can recycle electronics! Electronics recycling includes computers, monitors, TVs and cell phones, as well as other electronics  

• Beginning May 15th, New Hanover County's Environmental Management department will accept household hazardous waste materials six days a week includeing electronics.  Bring all items to the New Hanover County Environmental Management Office located at 3002 Hwy421 N Wilmington 28401.  Call 910-798-4400 for more information.  For  a full list of accepted items, click here.
• By North Carolina Law, all computer equipment manufacturers, including makers of desktops, laptops, computer monitors, printers, scanners, keyboards and mice must offer a no-cost recycling program to North Carolina households.
