City Park Rules and Regulations
  • Park Hours: sunrise to sunset
  • Dogs must be on leash and waste properly removed and disposed of
  • No alcoholic beverages or drugs allowed
  • Parking in designated areas only. No parking on grassed areas
  • No sleeping, camping or staying overnight in any park
  • No loud music, disturbing noises or profanity
  • Fires allowed only in facilities provided
  • Possession of firearms prohibited
  • Please help us keep the park clean, use designated trash receptacles

 ($100 civil penalty if violated) 

Maintaining Public Property

City grounds crews are responsible for maintaining:

  • Public Lots
  • City-owned Alleys
  • City-owned Rights-of-Way 
  • NCDOT-owned Rights-of-Way 

Maintenance includes:

  • Debris removal
  • Cleaning
  • Mowing
  • Weeding
  • Other general grounds maintenance

Fishing in City Parks

There are two locations that are available for fishing within city limits:

  • Greenfield Park (1739 Burnett Blvd) 
  • Anne McCrary Park (4000 Randall Parkway)

Greenfield Park has a boat ramp available to launch boats, canoes, and kayaks. Anne McCrary is limited to small boats, canoes and kayaks - no boat ramp is available . Fishing license is required; any persons under the age of 16 are not required to have a fishing license as long as they are accompanied by a licensed adult.
