Fireworks begin at 9:05 p.m. from a barge in the Cape Fear River

REMINDER: Pets are not allowed downtown during special events where large crowds are present and streets are closed.

Join us for a celebration of our nation’s independence on N. Water Street and Riverfront Park beginning at 6:00 pm for food and musical entertainment brought to you by the City of Wilmington, WGNI 102.7 and WECT. Local WGNI radio personality & afternoon companion, Ray Wegner, will emcee the event with special music provided by WGNI 102.7 from 6:00 pm – 7:30 p.m.

Headlining this year’s event is the United States Air Force, Full Spectrum Rock Band out of Langley Air Force Base in Hampton, VA (as seen on Conan O’Brien), a five piece electrifying, high energy “rock, pop & hip-hop” band consisting of Active Duty musicians assembled from areas throughout the U.S. Full Spectrum will take the stage from 7:30 pm – 9:00 p.m. For more information on Full Spectrum, visit www.facebook.com/FullSpectrumRocks/ and www.music.af.mil/Bands/US-Air-Force-Heritage-of-America-Band/

Fireworks will begin at 9:05 pm from a barge located at the convergence of the Cape Fear & Northeast Cape Fear Rivers, just north of the Battleship NC.

  • WECT will live stream the fireworks on wect.com beginning at 9:05 pm with a replay on air at 10:00 pm on 
    WECT TV 6
  • WGNI 102.7 will broadcast the fireworks music live on air and at Riverfront Park.
