New technology to repair old pipes

Post Date:10/06/2017 2:23 PM
Two stormwater projects which began in mid-August were recently completed. Each project involved a different, cost-effective method to repair drainage pipes that takes less time to complete. These methods are used when digging a hole in the road to replace a pipe is not economical or presents a significant impact to businesses or property owners.

Spin casting involves spraying a cement-like liner to strengthen the pipe and repair any holes. This process is being used on pipes located on Doctors Circle, Robert E Lee Road and Country Club Drive.

Injection grouting involves injecting grout into spaces and cracks around the pipe to create a water tight seal. This method is being used at Gillette Drive between Live Oak Parkway and Knollwood, the entrance to the State Ports Administration Building on Burnette Boulevard, and Garden Avenue between Floral Pkwy and 39th Street.
