Post Date:08/28/2018 10:13 AM

There’s still time to register for the six week mother/daughter self-defense training that the Wilmington Police Department and Maides Park are sponsoring.

Every Wednesday from  Sept. 5 to Oct. 10 WPD officers will lead a one hour class that explores self-defense techniques, discusses situational awareness and offers tips to help protect yourself.

The program is a part of an on-going effort to provide free classes to the community.

Participants should wear loose fitting clothes, soft sole shoes and should bring a water bottle. Classes will be held at Maides Park, 1101 Manly Avenue.

Pre-registration is required. Space is limited. Participants must be at least 11 years old.
