WPD names dog with terminal cancer honorary K9
Meet our newest K9 member...well, sort of. Jack Miller has terminal cancer, so his humans created a bucket list for him, which included taking a ride in a police car.
We made that happen (and a little bit more).
On the morning of Sunday, Oct. 28, we met Jack and his family at WPD Headquarters where we set off on our adventure. We know Jack enjoyed it, but it was really a treat for us. The first thing we did was deem him an honorary K9, complete with his own personal vest. Jack rode in the front seat of our patrol car, head out the window, wind blowing in his face, really living his life to the fullest. We visited our dispatchers at the 911 center, and then headed to a local dog park.
This was a very special experience for WPD; We're wishing him all the best!
