Council meeting, Mar. 5
The Wilmington City Council met at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Mar. 5. Items of interest on the agenda included:
- CONTINUED TO APRIL 2 MEETING. Public hearing to consider amendments to the Special Use Permit (SUP) Process, including removing the Planning Commission from the SUP approval process, requiring a community meeting to be held prior to it going to Council, and increasing the amount of nearby properties that would require a notification for a SUP or rezoning case.
- APPROVED. A resolution to implement Council recommendations following the Feb. 21 joint City/County meeting on Workforce and Affordable housing. This involves establishing a permanent joint City/County Housing Advisory Committee, sharing in funding for a comprehensive housing study, completion of a housing opinion study and initiation of a public awareness campaign.
The next Council Meeting will be held on Tuesday, Mar. 19. The agenda for this meeting will be posted on the city's website on Friday, Mar. 15.
Meetings are held at 6:30 p.m. in Council Chambers, which is located on the second floor of City Hall at 102 North 3rd Street. Parking is available in the Thalian Hall parking lot or in the city parking deck located directly across from City Hall.
