Repaving of city streets continues
Last week crews completed repaving Willard Street as part of the city’s 5-Year-Infrastructure Improvement Plan. Work to repave Castle Street from South 3rd Street to South 16th Street starts this week. Work is expected to continue over the next two weeks with intermittent lane closures, but two-way traffic is expected to be maintained at all times. Access to businesses and residences will also remain open at all times.
Last year, the city repaved almost 10 miles of city-maintained streets as part of the 5-Year-Plan and has repaved almost 100 lane miles over the last few years. Repairing and repaving city streets takes up more than half of the $59 million plan that will fund projects in fiscal years 2018-23. More information can be found here.
