Council meeting, May 19
The Wilmington City Council will met on Tuesday, May 19, at 6:30 p.m. at the Wilmington Convention Center and virtually. Items of interest included:
- HELD Public Hearing on the proposed FY 20/21 budget. Note: First vote will be held June 2, final vote on June 16 and the budget year begins July 1. You can see the proposed budget here
- AUTHORIZED Resolution declaring a continuing state of emergency in the city. This extends the current COVID-19 related restrictions until 5 pm, May 22, which is the date that the Governor’s stay at home order is currently set to be renewed, amended, or expire. The Council meeting and the agenda briefing are open to the public and will be streamed live on GTV8 (Spectrum cable channel 8) and wilmingtonnc.gov/gtv.
The next Council Meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 2, 2020. The agenda for this meeting will be posted on the city's website on Friday, May 29.
