Storm Debris Pickup

The city appreciates the patience and cooperation of our citizens as storm clean-up continues. 

While pickup of existing debris piles continues in the city, any NEW debris will not be picked up by the large hurricane debris trucks.

The city’s contractor for debris pickup is on the second and final pass for hurricane-related:

Monitors have identified the existing piles located in the city right-of-way and these piles will be picked up. Any new debris will not be picked up by DRC. Moving forward, all new debris must adhere to the guidelines below, which are the normal rules for pickup.  

Vegetative debris

Crews are currently working on a second and final pass to collect vegetative debris from Hurricane Florence. So far, more than 1.5 million cubic yards has been picked up.

Construction debris

The second and final pass for construction debris pickup from Hurricane Florence is underway.

NOTE: DO NOT PARK near debris piles. Trucks cannot pick up debris that is blocked.
