First Tee Project
If you have played the Muni lately, you have seen construction going on adjacent to the 9th hole. This First Tee project includes a 3 hole short course as well as a short driving range for kids. First Tee's mission is to provide programs for youth to teach core values through the game of golf. The project was designed by John Fought who designed 2014 improvements to the Muni. The project is scheduled to be completed on May 1. (Please note the project is not a city funded project.)

5945 Inland Greens Drive
Wilmington, NC 28403
Jonathan Batts, Manager
The City of Wilmington purchased the Inland Greens property in March 2011 for $500,000 from the 2006 voter-approved
Parks and Greenspace Bond. The facility was previously run as an 18 hole par 3 golf course. The project includes stormwater improvements, the rehabilitation of 9 of the golf course holes and the creation of a passive park on the other 9 holes of the course.
Phase I of the Inland Greens project which included extensive stormwater improvements on the 33 acre park/golf course was completed winter 2016. The drainage system was improved to provide additional flood capacity and stormwater treatment. In addition a 3/4 mile walking trail was installed.
Phase II development includes rehabilitation of 9 holes of the par three golf course and conversion of the other 9 holes of the golf course to create a passive park. Phase II is underway.
Status of Golf Course Project:
Due to large amounts of rainfall during August & September, the
golf course project will not be done until Spring 2018.
Work on the clubhouse is progressing and should be done the first week of October 2017.
