What is Cop Camp?

The Wilmington Police Department has been running its cost free Cop Camp since 1995.  Cop Camp is designed to provide children with an opportunity to positively interact with law enforcement personnel.  Throughout the five days of camp children participate in recreational activities, field trips, educational experiences, and a community service project. 


Who can apply?

  • Rising 4th and 5th grade Boys & Girls (current 3rd and 4th graders)
  • Residents of New Hanover County
  • Behavior: No extensive behaviors or pending charges.
  • Those who have not attended Cop Camp in the past

**More than one child from a family can be referred; however, they must also meet the criteria.


Transportation must be provided to and from the Wilmington Police Dept. (615 Bess Street)


How do I sign my child up?


  • Go online to , print off application, fill it out, and then drop off completed application to the Wilmington Police Dept. front desk.
  • Come into Wilmington Police Dept. front desk and request an application and turn in once completed.

June 18-22nd - 1st Session Cop Camp



July 5th- Orientation

July 9-13th - 2nd Session Cop Camp

June 18-22, 2018

8am- 4pm M-F

Orientation Night: June 14th 6:30pm

Drop-off at 8:00 am & pick-up at 4:00 pm


2nd Session

July 9-13, 2018

8am- 4pm M-F

Orientation Night: July 5th 6:30pm

Drop-off at 8:00 am & pick-up at 4:00 pm
