Early Voting

Early voting for the 2019 municipal elections in New Hanover County begins Wednesday, Oct. 16 and will run until Friday, Nov. 1. All One-Stop voting will be held at 230 Government Center Drive, Suite 34.  

You will be required to complete and sign an absentee request application prior to One-Stop voting. Afterwards, you will be directed to the voting machine to cast your ballot. Once you have submitted your application and executed the process of voting, the county board of elections will review your application and either approve or deny the submission.

Election Day

Same Day Registration

Individuals are eligible to register and vote on the same day during One-Stop voting only. To use same-day registration, you must complete a voter registration application and show an election official proof of residential address in the county.  This “proof of address” may consist of a current and valid photo ID or a document showing the name and current address of the applicant. To be current, the document must be the most recent version or at least dated within three (3) months of the date it is presented to an election official.
