From infrastructure and basic services to public safety, recreation, and economic development, City government plays an integral role in shaping a community’s quality of life and future prosperity. While the City of Wilmington employs more than 1,000 full-time staff to perform these vital functions, the City also relies on numerous residents to guide and shape the City’s direction. In addition to an elected Mayor and City Council, 34 resident-led boards and commissions provide City government with valuable insight, direction, and community connection.
Wilmington 101 is an opportunity to network with residents and leaders from across the community, discover how City government works, and learn how you can help guide and shape our City’s future. For six sessions, participants will gather for four hours to hear from invited guest speakers and see hands-on demonstrations of City government in action.
