The City of Wilmington appointed former Police Chief Ralph Evangelous to serve as Interim Chief beginning June 30th, 2025 while a nationwide search for the next permanent chief continues. Chief Evangelous brings more than 50 years of law enforcement experience and a deep commitment to the Wilmington community. He led the Wilmington Police Department from 2004 to 2020 and has also served as an active reserve officer.
