The Cape Fear Memorial Bridge will shape Wilmington for generations. Understand the options. Know the impacts. Make your voice heard.Your next chance is WMPO's Sept. 30. Board Meeting.
The community is invited to join us at Celebration Pop-up Park, 305 Chestnut St., on Aug. 19 at 10 a.m. for an unveiling of a new public art installation.
Canceled Cups, created by local artists Lauren Pallotta Stumberg and Dumay Gorham, is inspired by the Wilmington Ladies Tea Walk of 1775, where local women burned their tea in protest of British rule. The art piece honors their bold act of resistance and Wilmington’s connection to the story of American independence.
City Council allocated $25,000 toward the project as part of the City’s commemoration of America’s 250th anniversary.
