What is Cop Camp?

The Wilmington Police Department has been running its cost free Cop Camp since 1995. Cop Camp is designed to provide children with an opportunity to positively interact with law enforcement personnel. Throughout the five days of camp children participate in recreational activities, field trips, educational experiences, and a community service project.

When is it? 

1st Session  5th and 6th grade

June 23-27, 2025

8am- 4pm M-F

2nd Session 3rd  and 4th grade

July 7-11, 2025

8am- 4pm M-F

Who can apply? 

  • Current 3rd - 4th and 5th - 6th Boys & Girls
  • Residents of New Hanover County
  • Behavior: No extensive behaviors or pending charges.
  • Those who have not attended Cop Camp in the past

**More than one child from a family can be referred; however, they must also meet the criteria.

How do kids get referred? 

By parents, guardians, social workers, counselors, teachers, and police officers that recommend kids who meet the requirements.
