The Greenfield Grind Skate Park, 302 Willard St., will be formally dedicated and renamed to the Alec Chambers Skate Park, on Friday Aug. 21 at 2 p.m. Alec was a local professional skateboarder who grew up skating at Greenfield and became a beloved fixture of the community. The effort to rename the park after his passing was championed by more than 6,800 people via petition.
Council unanimously approved the renaming earlier this year, and the City will celebrate Alec's life and his love of skateboarding at the upcoming ceremony.
