The City of Wilmington will host a Disaster Preparedness Expo on May 16, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Skyline Center — 929 N. Front St.

This event is designed to equip city and county residents with the knowledge and tools needed to effectively prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters.

Attendees will learn practical strategies for building emergency kits, creating family preparedness plans, staying informed during emergencies, and navigating post-disaster recovery resources.

There will be kids' activities, giveaways, and food trucks as well.

The goal is to empower individuals and families to stay safe, reduce risks, and build resilience before, during, and after a disaster.
