You’re Invited: Help Design Wilmington’s Newest Park!
May 2
10 a.m. to 2 p.m
MLK Center, 401 S. 8th St.
Join the City of Wilmington for a free, hands-on event to bring the community together and shape our newest public park.
Bring the whole family and enjoy games, kids' activities, and local food trucks from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. while sharing your ideas and inspiration. At 1 p.m., participating design teams will highlight what they heard.
This event kicks off a comprehensive public engagement process, which will also include a digital survey. The survey will remain open afterward to encourage broader community participation.
On March 16, the City purchased 25 acres of green space off Greenville Loop Road to develop the future park. With funding support from the City, the New Hanover Community Endowment, and New Hanover County, the site will be activated for public use in five years.
Located adjacent to Bradley Creek Elementary School, a Title I school serving a diverse student population, this purchase advances the City’s goal of expanding park access in areas currently underserved by recreational infrastructure while strengthening a connected network of parks, trails, and green spaces.
