Little Explorers Program

Bring your “Little Explorers” out to the park and discover nature through park hikes, experiments, crafts and activities. Your children will delight in the nature themes explored each month. $3/person. Ages 2-5.

Mighty Migrators - Get to know some of the animals that migrate and learn all about why animals make these seasonal journeys through games, crafts, and other outdoor activities. Friday, September 11th, 10am-10:45am.

Found on the Ground - From mushrooms to moss and leaves, explore the hidden ecosystem that makes up the forest floor on this interactive hike filled with song and games. Saturday, September 26th, 10am-10:45am.

Mammalian Mayhem - Find out what we have in common with our cats and dogs by learning about what makes mammals a special group of animals. Friday, October 9th, 10am-10:45am.

Shells and Scales - Discover the world of reptiles and learn about the characteristics that make up this group of animals through games, activities, and a reptile encounter with one of the park’s animal ambassadors. Friday, October 23rd, 10am-10:45am.

Nothing to Fear - Get to know the things that go bump in the night and discover how nature is not so scary after all. Friday, October 30th, 10am-10:45am.

What's for Dinner - Whether it’s veggies or meat, find out what’s on the menu for different kinds of animals and discover how we can tell what they like to eat. Friday, November 13th, 10am-10:45am.

Thankful Nature - Enjoy the beauty of nature as we take time to practice thankfulness and use our senses and feelings to appreciate the natural world. Friday, November 20th, 10am-10:45am.

Welcome Winter - As our days get colder and our nights get longer, learn about the winter season and the different ways people and other animals adapt to our coldest time of year. Friday, December 4th, 10am-10:45am.

Home for the Holidays - From nests to dens, discover the different places that animals call home through games and outdoor exploration. Friday, December 11th, 10am-10:45am.
