Althea Gibson Tennis Complex

The Little Aces Tennis Clinics will focus on teach the fundamentals of tennis through drilling and fun games. This is for ages 5-7. Cost is $12 per clinic or $72 for 6-1 hour clinics. Maximum number of participants is 8, so please register early.

Session 1: Tuesdays from 3:30pm-4:30pm, October 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th, November 3rd and 10th.

Session 2: Tuesdays from 3:30pm-4:30pm, December 1st, 8th, and 15th.

Hot Shot Tennis Clinics focus on proper technique, drilling, rallying, and point play. These clinics are for ages 8-11. Cost is $12 for 1 hour clinic and $72 for 6-1 hour clinics. Maximum number of participants per session is 16, so please register early.

Session 1: Tuesdays from 4:30pm-5:30pm, October 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th, November 3rd and 10th. Thursdays from 3:30pm-4:30pm, October 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th, and November 5th.

Session 2: Tuesdays from 4:30pm-5:30pm, December 1st, 8th, 15th, and 22nd. Thursdays from 3:30pm-4:30pm, December 3rd, 10th, and 17th.

This tennis clinic will introduce all the fundamentals of tennis, point play, and score keeping. Great warm-up for middle school tennis!

Middle School Tennis (ages 10-13)

Session 1 Dates: Every Thursday from 4:30pm - 5:30pm, Thursday October 1, 2026 - Thursday, November 5, 2026

The Wilmington Seagulls Tennis Association in partnership with the City of Wilmington will host free kids tennis clinics at the Althea Gibson Tennis Complex located in Empie Park on Friday, September 18th, 2026 from 6:00pm - 8:00pm.

AND

...at Robert Strange Park on Saturday, October 17, 2026 from 11:00am - 1:00pm

Adult Beginner Tennis Clinics for ages 17 and up. These introductory clinics are designed to teach all the fundamentals of tennis in a fun, no stress way. There is a maximum number of 10 participants so please register early. Cost is $72, includes 4-1.5 hour clinics.

The 3.0-3.5 doubles clinic will focus on doubles play, strategy, and positioning. This is for 18 and up age group. There is a maximum of 10 participants per session, so please register early. Cost is $72 for 4-1.5 hour sessions.

Session 2: Thursdays from 5:30pm-7:00pm, October 8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th.
