The WFD drops off food items collected in 2024

The Wilmington Fire Department is spreading holiday cheer by giving back to families in need through its Annual Holiday Food Drive, benefiting Nourish NC.

Last year, WFD collected more than 1,700 pounds of food, and this year, they’re hoping to break that record.

Donations will be accepted through Wednesday, Dec. 11, and delivered to Nourish NC on Thursday, Dec. 12, where they will help stock the organization’s Market on Market and Backpack Program, both of which provide nutritious food to children and families throughout the community.

Employees can drop off donations in collection boxes at Skyline Center’s breakroom entrance and public side entrance, or at any of the 10 Wilmington Fire Department stations:

  • Fire Headquarters — 801 Market Street
  • Station 2 — 3403 Park Avenue
