Greenfield Park

Explore Greenfield Park’s 250 acres, filled with trails winding around Greenfield Lake, two unlit pickleball courts, the Greenfield Grind Skate Park, outdoor amphitheater, and boat and kayak rentals. Greenfield Park is also a year-round birding oasis within busy downtown Wilmington. Other park amenities include restroom facilities, water fountains, age- and ability-specific playgrounds, picnic shelters, grills, and an accessible fishing dock. This is the perfect place to spend any day of the year enjoying nature with family and friends. It also features a 4.8-mile long paved path for walking and biking. 


Fishing

  • Fishing license is required; anyone under the age of 16 is not required to have a fishing license as long as they are accompanied by a licensed adult. More information relating to N.C. State Fishing Regulations can be found here.
  • Boat ramp available to launch boats, canoes and kayaks.

Event Venues

Rotary Garden

Spanning 240 feet across, the Rotary Wheel Garden is the world’s largest Rotary symbol and one of Wilmington’s most unique landmarks. Built in 1965 to commemorate the Rotary Club of Wilmington’s 50th anniversary, the Garden stands as both a community gathering space and a symbol of civic service.

Fragrance Garden

The Fragrance Garden, located beside the Greenfield Lake Amphitheater, offers a beautiful lakeside setting ideal for weddings, ceremonies, and special gatherings. This intimate garden features seasonal plantings, paved walkways, and a gazebo centerpiece, providing a picturesque backdrop for your event.

Greenfield Lake Amphitheater

Though the park is owned by the city, the concert venue is managed by Live Nation. Learn more about seating, parking and upcoming events here.

Master Plan

A master plan was created for Greenfield Park with consultant McAdams. It will act as the foundation for future Greenfield Park programs, facilities and amenities.

The final plan includes:

  • Landscaping and maintenance updates
  • Plan to open shoreline sight lines
  • Analysis to determine personnel needs
  • Programming analysis
  • Safety and security analysis
  • Capital projects/facility life cycles
