The City of Wilmington’s Parks & Recreation Department invited the community to be part of history as we celebrated 100 years of Greenfield Park! The event took place on Saturday, November 1, at 1941 Amphitheater Drive, filling the park with community, reflection, and celebration.
The ceremony began at 11:00 AM with inspiring remarks from the Rotary Club, REV Credit Union, Cape Fear Garden Club members, and City & County Officials. Following these tributes, a time capsule was dedicated and will be buried in the near future, preserving the day’s stories and memories for future generations. Thank you to those who contributed items.
The celebration continued with families enjoying a bounce house, community vendors, and local food trucks before heading over to the FREE Centennial Concert at the Greenfield Lake Amphitheater from 2 – 6 PM (gates opened at 2 PM).
The day provided an opportunity to make memories while honoring the past and looking forward to the future of Greenfield Park.
Thank you to our AMAZING community - and community partners - for celebrating this milestone with us.
