Dawson Wooster Streetscape Dawson and Wooster streets serve as a primary entrance and exit to the city. Planned improvements for the roadways include hardscaping, landscaping, and pedestrian amenities.
Pine Grove Drive The voter-approved transportation bond included intersection improvements in and around Pine Grove Drive. A comprehensive traffic analysis was conducted to look at the best way to implement these improvements. The analysis looked at the area as a whole, taking into account the ripple effect that occurs when traffic patterns are changed at a nearby location.
Greenville Loop Trail The City of Wilmington is in the design and construction phase of Greenville Loop Trail, which has been split into four phases to expedite completion. The Greenville Loop Trail is part of the rapidly expanding network of multi-use trails being planned and constructed in the city.
Masonboro Loop Trail This 1.4-mile multi-use path will run along Masonboro Loop Road, from Navaho Trail to Pine Grove. It will connect nearby neighborhoods such as Andrews Reach and Dawning Creek Way to Parsley Elementary School and provide safe bicycle/pedestrian access to commercial areas along Masonboro Loop Road such as Masonboro Station and Masonboro Commons.
Wrightsville Avenue Improvements This work combines three projects that are all located along the Wrightsville Avenue corridor. The combined project consists of a new roundabout at Wallace Avenue and a continuous sidewalk along the North side of Wrightsville Avenue approximately 2.6 miles from Independence Boulevard to Hawthorne Drive.
Kerr Avenue Trail This 0.7-mile multi-use path along Kerr Avenue will provide a safe pedestrian route from the UNCW campus and College Road to commercial areas north of Market Street via the NCDOT Kerr Avenue project.
Eastwood Road This project is improving the look and function of Eastwood Road between Bretonshire Road and Cavalier Drive. This busy corridor is a primary route for traffic to Wrightsville Beach. Improvements include a median with traffic signals and U-turn areas along Eastwood Road between Cardinal Drive and Military Cutoff Road.
Hooker Road Multi-use Path This Hooker Road multi-use path will run the full length of Hooker Road, connecting UNCW and the Cross City Trail to the existing bike lanes on Wrightsville Avenue.
