Home Buyer Education (HOP) Classes

June 20, 2025

The City of Wilmington Community Development department is hosting Home Buyer Education classes. The certificate is good for two years and allows participants to become eligible for a HOP (Home Ownership Pool) loan. The topics covered include credit, working with a real estate agent, fair housing, shopping for a home loan and inspections. This loan program is for low-to-moderate income households

Walk & Learn Series at Halyburton

June 21, 2025

Discover a new way to explore the park each month with the Walk and Learn series. Each hike will focus on a different and unique aspect of the park- from natural history to cultural relevance to health and wellness. Available for those 16 years of age and older. FREE Program.

Senior Fitness Classes at Maides Park

June 26, 2025

This class provides light exercise, incorporating yoga, light weights, and body weight exercises, for those 55 years of age and older.

City of Wilmington Mulch Giveaway Program

June 27, 2025

The City of Wilmington is launching a mulch giveaway program to distribute excess wood chips generated from urban forestry operations to the general public. The events are scheduled for the last Friday of each month, from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM. For more information, please contact the Parks and Forestry office at 910-341-7852.
