Preschool Programs

The City of Wilmington’s Parks & Recreation Department strives to offer programming opportunities for all! For that reason, the Fit For Fun (FFF) Center exists for those between the ages of 0 and 5. The FFF team of committed and passionate youth educators provides a warm and safe environment to best support children’s natural curiosity and enthusiasm for learning. Fit For Fun 

Little Leaps Creative Movement & Music Classes

Move, dance, explore, play and discover! Join Ms. Carrie in the art room for a joyful and engaging 30-minute caregiver and child movement class specially designed for little movers, walking to 3 years old. Walk-in's welcome!

Dates: April 17, 2026

Time: 10:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.

Fee: Free with general admission

 

Sensory-Friendly Play Sessions at Fit For Fun

Join us for a calm, inclusive play session designed to support children with sensory sensitivities and their families, offered in collaboration with Behavioral Consulting for Autism. The environment features reduced noise, limited capacity, visual supports, choice boards, and a dedicated sensory space, all aimed at creating a welcoming and flexible experience tailored to each child’s needs. Pre-registration is required, and families who register may stay for the regular morning play session (9 –12 p.m.) at no additional cost.

Fee: Free with general admission

STEM & Stories

Join Mr. Zachary in the art room for 15 minutes of playful exploration! Experience imaginative play, sensory learning, fine motor fun, storytelling and movement activities that inspire creativity and curiosity. Story Time begins at 10 a.m. at the Fit For Fun Center's Art Room. Register here.

Water Works

Water Works at the Fit For Fun Center

Looking for a fun way to cool off this summer? Join us for Water Works, a splash-filled outdoor program at the Fit For Fun Center.

On select dates throughout the summer, the playground transforms into a water wonderland, perfect for kids to stay cool, play, and enjoy the sunshine. Expect water activities, plenty of laughs, and a refreshing ice pop to top it off.

Pre-registration is required.

Creature Feature

Creature Feature at the Fit For Fun Center

Get up close with the animal kingdom at Creature Feature, an interactive program where participants and their caregivers can meet and learn about a variety of animals.

Each session includes hands-on experiences and engaging presentations in a fun, safe environment.

Walk-ins are welcome. The program is free and included with Fit For Fun Center admission. Participants can also sign up for sessions in advance.

  • Fit For Fun utilizes Sign-Up Genius for a few programs. Be sure to check HERE as well.
